It’s a strange thing to watch these kids get ready to graduate.  It really feels like they were just in grade school.  Tanen is such a pleasure to be around…he is genuine, respectful, kind and a little bit of goofy in there too.  He is ultra talented in so many things and I know the Lord has big plans for him.  Tanen will be headed out with one of his best friends in September for the Coast Guard.  I am fairly certain that for parents this is one of the hardest things EVER.  Your first one stepping out into the world…proud parents with prayers of all they hope for on their tongues.

Congratulations, Tanen.  Your parents are already so proud of you and you are going to make all of us and our country proud too.

We will be praying for you and your new adventure.

This family is getting it right.  Raising kids is hard work, day in and day out and they are intentionally raising kids that are sweet, kind, respectful and fun!!  I have known this family for quite some time and have spent time with some of them individually, but this was my first time hanging with them as a whole.  They were so fun and we spent most of the time laughing (thank you, Reese!).  We did both a family session out at Lake Pleasant and some of Tanen’s senior pictures too, which I will post tomorrow.  It was a beautiful day out and the water was crystal clear.  Although I was fairly sure Reese would have taken a dip, we decided we should stay dry for the pictures.

I really LOVE doing senior pictures.  They are really more magazine cover ready, which I love.  I can’t wait to photograph more this fall.

Love you, Courtney!!  I can’t believe you are graduating in a month.  You are beautiful inside and out and this was such a privilege to be able to capture you as you end one journey and begin another…

Blessings!

Courtney Class of 2011 | Senior Photographer

May 6th, 2011

Here is part 2 of Courtney’s Senior Session.  She really wanted bold colors, fun and a little more urban feel, so we headed downtown for the afternoon.  We got lucky because there was just the right amount of cloud cover for the day.  Some of these spots in the afternoon are in full sun which [...]

Here is part 2 of Courtney’s Senior Session.  She really wanted bold colors, fun and a little more urban feel, so we headed downtown for the afternoon.  We got lucky because there was just the right amount of cloud cover for the day.  Some of these spots in the afternoon are in full sun which can cause a few issues with light, eyes, etc., but it worked out just perfectly.  The wind was a little breezy that day which made for some fun too.  I think that Courtney is an absolute natural in front of the camera and I just loved all the expressions that came out!!

For the Love of Family | Knight Family Part 1

May 2nd, 2011

Meet part of my husband’s amazing extended family that I married into.  Uncle Freddy, Aunt Gale, Courtney, Olivia and McKenzie.  At the beginning of April they all piled into a less than big enough rental vehicle and traveled roughly 1900 miles to Arizona for me to capture Courtney’s senior pictures.  Honored?  I think so.  Of [...]

Honored?  I think so.  Of course, I think that my children were the real draw!!  ;)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this family.  We already miss them so much {tears}!!  They blessed us throughout the week with loving on our children and just being with us.  The last time I saw the girls was when Gage was eight months old and we took him to Michigan in December (Hello, I am a true Arizonan – why did we go in the winter??  I was an ice cube the entire trip!).  So, to say that they have grown up a little would be an understatement.  Although here in these images you get to see their outward beauty, make no mistake these girls are the real deal inside and out.  They too have a passion for Jesus, dance, softball, family and possibly boys!  ;)   Girls, we were so blessed by you and can’t wait to see you soon!!!  xoxoxo

Uncle Freddy & Aunt Gale, what can I say…your girls are beautiful a reflection of your love for them, each other, Jesus & life.  You both are amazing.  We enjoyed every moment we had with you and are praying for what God will have for you in the future.  Oh to have you closer to us would be incredible.  Thank you for making the trek all the way here for Courtney’s pictures it was a great excuse to spend time with you.

We love you!!

Ok, because they traveled so far…they will get some extra love…we did three separate shoots, so throughout this week you will get to see their family AND Courtney’s senior session.

First up, part 1 – The Family (& a few with us too!!)

Hard to believe that these two girls were the flower girls in my wedding when they were just turning FOUR!!  BTW, Gracie is a dead ringer to McKenzie at this age!!  :)

More to come in the next few days!!  Have a great Monday!!
