Jim & Brandy Day After

September 1, 2009

I first met Jim & Brandy last year when they came up for a “mini shoot” at Christmas time!  Such a sweet and beautiful family, not easily forgettable.  Well, I was thrilled a few month later when Brandy contacted me about pictures for their up and coming wedding…I squealed and then totally panicked because this would be a first.  In fact I wasn’t sure I wanted to get into weddings…I loved portrait work and was continuing down that road.  Brandy said the sweetest words to me and I couldn’t say no!!  Well, in May they tied the knot and it was a simply beautiful backyard wedding.  Brandy is a stunning bride and Jim isn’t too bad himself!  :-)  They have a beautiful blended family and the kids are just precious as all get out!  Can you tell that I just love this family.  I also, love that they have welcomed me into their lives to capture their life moments…well, after the wedding I took Jim and Brandy downtown to do their Day After session.  What a blast we had!!!  We were afraid it might be hot, but surprise it was only REALLY HOT!!  Poor Jim!!  They were both such troopers as they were in their full get-ups!!  I think I wore jeans just so I could empathize the uncomfortable heat.  Well, I was happy that the heat of the day didn’t show through in their pictures other than their HOTNESS!!  Are you kidding me?  Look at Brandy…stunning inside and out!!  Love you guys!!!!

And if you are thinking that these shots look familiar…if you have been on my website these two are basically plastered all over…how could I not??  They are as beautiful and photogenic as it gets!!  And I am happy to add that because of these two…weddings are now part of my work!!!

My Sweet Sadie…

September 1, 2009

When I was pregnant with Sadie I really wanted to wait to find out what we were having.  I am not sure why…I guess that I thought it would be fun to really be surprised!  Now, my hubby thought a little different, but thankfully he indulged his pregnant wife.  I myself grew up with all boys…(three to be exact and I was the only girl)…so naturally I thought that I would have all boys.  I already had one, so I was pretty sure in my mind I was having another.  So, when the night came…everything was a whirlwind and she came fairly quickly…and my husband said, “I think it’s a girl…”  I have to say that I was in shock…but, God always knows what’s best in our lives…my “shock” was a blessing beyond words.  Our “Sadie-Lady” as we call her is a lot like her mother, which her Grandpa loves to remind me of, but …she is sweet, loving, feisty, a destroyer of many toys, a lover to her big brother & her little sister, a movie buff and critic, a story teller, a smile on a tough day and so much more.  She tells me often, “Mom, you’re the best-ever!” {melt}

Well, Miss Sadie is growing up way to fast as all these kids keep trying to do and 3 1/2 feels like it is already approaching 4…then 5…I want to cherish these moments…even on the hard days.  I love you Sadie-Lady and yes, I will read, “I wish that I had duck feet” to you for the fifth time today.

So many of these oozed Sadie’s personality that I couldn’t decide on a “favorite” and posted many favorites instead
