My Sadie Lady…

May 3rd, 2013

This beautiful lady turned seven a few months ago and I keep meaning to post these pictures of her, but we’ve been busy.  Finally, I am getting to it.    She is a little mini-me (and a mini Grandma too), however she got the most gorgeous big brown eyes that are all her own.  She [...]

This beautiful lady turned seven a few months ago and I keep meaning to post these pictures of her, but we’ve been busy.  Finally, I am getting to it.  :)   She is a little mini-me (and a mini Grandma too), however she got the most gorgeous big brown eyes that are all her own.  She is smart and funny.  She enjoys playing in the dirt and yet she will take a daddy date over anything in the world.  She does the robot like nobody’s business, loves to sing, write songs and make up her own stories.  I love this little lady so much!!!

This first outfit that she is wearing was made for Sadie’s great grandmother, Virgina back in 1934.  It has been worn by several other relatives along the way including Sadie’s grandma and great aunts.  My grandma gave it to me recently to pass on and I was excited to photograph Sadie in it.

This last weekend we took some time out to visit the “happiest place on earth”.

The girls especially had fun finding the princesses to autograph their books and get pictures with them.

We have determined that our older two at ages 7 and 9 had the best time of all.  They could ride all the rides without age/height restriction.  Sadie was thrilled that she could ride “alone” on the bumper bugs in Bugsland.

Gracie was a trooper and dared the Tower of Terror, which she says she loved.  Sadie didn’t remember the ride being quite so long and her pale face after was a tell all for sure.

We did the Aladdin show this year which was AMAZING!!  We LOVED it!!

All the parades were wonderful and kept even Mr. Grumpy pants very happy when he saw his favorite Pixar characters (Buzz in particular).  His Buzz was a lifesaver for sure as it kept him occupied while waiting in lines!

My in-laws came along with us and thank goodness because they took the little ones every afternoon for a snooze!!

AND YES staying at one of the Disney hotels was 100% worth it when you have little ones!!  When the kids are all older it would be a different story, but for now we will save to spend a little extra for that!!  So, wonderful to have easy access to our hotel.  Not to mention the magic morning!!

Best ride overall…hands down Radiator Springs Racers.  So, fun and one of the best themed rides Disney has to offer!!  For the bigger kids & grownups going in the single rider line is definitely the way to go 20 minute wait vs. 90+ minutes!!

Well, we are back now and trying to get things back in order and back to work.  If you have been patiently waiting to see images I am working hard to get those up over the next few days!!  Thank you so much for letting me take some time out for fun!!

Here is some of our photos, yes they are iphone photos…between holding Gunnar 24/7 and all our snacks in my bag the professional camera was the last of our worries!  ;)

Still playing catch up on a few blog posts.  Although Baby Lucy was born in November, we didn’t get to take her pictures until she was eight weeks old.  Typically, at eight weeks it is much more difficult to get baby to sleep and stay asleep for any newborn-type shots, but she was a champ!!  Lucy is a sweet little angel that was diagnosed while still in her mommy’s tummy with TGA (Transposition of the Great Arteries) which means that the aorta & the pulmonary artery on her heart were flip flopped.  Thanks to the medical advances of modern medicine…Lucy was able to have surgery after she was born to reverse the mix-up while she was developing.  It didn’t go without risk as she was born and had to fight to get to surgery!  I am happy to report that Lucy is doing wonderfully, growing like a weed and will soon be chasing after her big brother!!  :)   Such a blessing!!  So, here is Miss Lucy…

Together for nine years, they have patiently waited to have the wedding they dreamed of.  It couldn’t have been more perfect.  With eleven of their closest friends standing on each side of them.  Family & friends that came from as close as next door to as far as Puerto Rico.  Jennifer & Mitchell both calm & collected, quietly anticipating the moment they would see each other on the best day of their lives.  Getting to know these two has been a joy.  They are some of the most genuine and kind around.  We did their engagement session at Hotel Valley Ho last year on a stormy day, but there wasn’t a cloud in sight on their wedding day.  Here’s some bits of their amazing day…

A BIG thank you to everyone that made the day PERFECT!!

Jennifer & Mitchell asked me to come and photograph their rehearsal dinner the night before their wedding.  They had lots of family & friends that had come in for the wedding and this was a fun intimate gathering.  It gave me a chance to get to know some of the wedding party and family a little better too.  I try to be careful not to get anyone stuffing a big bite into their mouths, ha!!  Jen & Mitch have been coming the restaurant CafePino for years and have a wonderful relationship with the owner.  He was more than happy to host their rehearsal dinner and their guests were more than happy because the food is AMAZING!!  The Sunday after their wedding I took my hubby over to try out some more of their food…I’m happy to report we have already been back twice!!  Yummy!!!

So, here’s a little taste of the fun from Jen & Mitch’s rehearsal dinner!!
